Is This Thing On?

As someone relatively new to the blogosphere, I have to admit to a certain trepidation in starting a blog. For one thing, it seems to run contrary to long held sentiments I've had about them - i.e. that they're a playground for techno-geeks with way too much time on their hands. I have, however, found my sentiment changing of late, given that I've encountered a number of blogs that I've found to be quite interesting and far from banal in nature. Also, given that I'm prone to lecturing students from my own window office about the impact of technological change upon the way we do business, I've decided to at least attempt not to be left behind in the rush.

In the days ahead I'm not sure I can promise that anything incredibly profound will be written here, but I will at the very least attempt to provide the best rumination my cluttered little mind can offer.
